    • He signed a two-year contract extension with the Gunner before his contract expired
    • The Gunners have one just one of their first three league games, losing the other two

Arsene Wenger admits he nearly left Arsenal this summer due to personal reasons before reconsidering his position and signing a new two year contract at the club.
The Frenchman's initial contract was to expire in the summer and he was widely expected to quit the club but he signed a two year contract extension.
However things could have been different if the Frenchman left with PSG in contact with him about taking over from Unai Emery.
Asked on who tried to appoint him this summer, Wenger told French broadcasters Telefoot:“There have been contacts with PSG.”
When asked why he was nervous about committing the next two years of his managerial career to the Gunners, Wenger added: “Yes I hesitated about signing a new contract for personal reasons.
"I have been at Arsenal for 20 years and I ask myself all the time if I should continue to run the club.
“And also because we struggled a lot last season. Coaching a different club would be possible.”
After missing out on the Champions League, the Gunners have had a disastrous start to this season, winning just one of their first three Premier League games.
Wenger had previously confirmed a £92m (€100m) bid for AS Monaco's Thomas Lemar was accepted but the player did not want to leave the club while PSG were asking for €180m for Kylian Mbappe.
