The British Met Office has shared beautiful and spectacular pictures of cloud formations that look the hand and legs of God.

Cloud formation that looks like the hand of God

The Manchester Astronomical Society took the pictures, the first of which was from a sighting in Manchester and the second from North Yorkshire.

The glow of sunset enhanced the beauty and aesthetic appeal of the cloud formations, and the fact that they uncannily took on the shape of a hand and two walking legs made them even more memorable.

The Met Office said the clouds that result in these types of formations are known as altocumulus clouds, adding that they are harmless and often form during fair weather and sunsets.

The sightings fittingly fell on the World Meteorological Day on March 22, during which meteorological experts announced 11 new cloud varieties.
