Man arrested for allegedly trying to use a 4yr old girl for suya

• Man sustains injury while attempting to rescue a girl from the grip of a suya seller

• The Lagos state police command accuses the suya seller, Abdulahi, of kidnap and attempted murder

• A brother to the suspect says Abdulahi is mentally unstable

A man who sells roasted meat popularly called suya has been arrested through the lagos state police command for allegedly attempting to use a four-yr-old girl to prepare the delicacy.

The sun reports that the four-yr-vintage woman was allegedly abducted by the suspect, Abdulahi, at white sand area of Ebute Meta, while she playing along with her friends in an open field.

Abdulahi then reportedly took the lady to a secluded region where he had tried to skill her with a knife however for the well timed intervention of a man who saw what was going on and raised the alarm.

The incident was on Wednesday, August 30 showed by means of the lagos country commissioner of police, Fatai Owoseni, who said that the person who tried to rescue the lady sustained a minor injury on his hand.

He said: “The suspect was subsequently handed over to the Police at Denton Police Station, Oyingbo. Police investigation revealed that the suspect had abducted the little girl from where she was playing with her friends with the sole intension of killing her. It is a clear case of kidnap and attempted murder.” 

But, a brother to the suspect who identified himself definitely as Ibrahim, attributed abdulahi’s movements to intellectual instability.

He stated: “i am a suya seller. I sell suya at white sand region of Ebute Meta. My brother was not okay before. He become dealt with in the village five years ago before he got here to lagos. Perhaps the sickness has come back again.” 

“On the day of the incident, while we were promoting suya, suddenly my brother started out behaving funny. He grabbed the table and turned it the wrong way up scattering the whole suya in the process.

“At some stage in the confusion that accompanied he grabbed the little female and we tried to free the woman from him. It was  while we where trying to free the little woman that one guy sustained injury on his hand.”
